A nursing home negligence case needed strong visuals to show the emotional impact of an incident to a resident in a nursing home. During a late night practice fire alarm, a woman was trapped in her room after trying to escape, repeatedly using her call button for assistance with no response. Frightened for her life and connected to a feeding tube she got herself out of bed and fell, the feeding pump and stand falling on her, causing serious injury.
Using a site plan, details provided by the victim’s family and supplied video footage of the empty unit we created the apartment and placed the furniture to create an accurate representation at the time of the accident. After creating a model of the unit we met with the attorney and were able to rotate the model to get the most advantageous views he needed to plan his case strategy to show negligence.
The result was a successful negligence animation that was used in several ways; static perspective views, poster blow-ups and an animation showing the sequence of events that led to the accident, all adding integrity to the expert’s testimony.
